Radiant Cut Diamonds![]() The Radiant Cut Diamond was invented by Henry Grossbard in 1977. It has 62-70 facets and is similiar to a princess cut diamond in appearance, but without the sharp corners. So a radiant cut diamond has eight sides (4 short sides as the corners and 4 long sides.) Radiant diamonds are brilliant and probably more consistent in their sparkle than princess cut diamonds, and can also look bigger for their weight. Radiant cut diamonds sell for about the same price as princess cut diamonds, however they are not very popular in Australia and as such are not as commonly available. It is surprising that they aren't more popular as they are beautiful and durable. A radiant cut diamond will usually cost substantially less than a round brilliant diamond of same weight and quality. For claw settings where the claw is round, a radiant cut diamond is ideal since the claw holds the cut corners nicely and more securely when set correctly. Search for Radiant Cut Diamonds |
