Asscher Cut Diamonds

Asscher Diamond
The Asscher Cut Diamond is similiar to the emerald cut diamond but in a square shape with a depth that is greater in proportion to an emerald cut diamond, has a smaller table and a higher crown.
This means that the asscher cut diamond will sparkle more than an emerald cut diamond. It's like a cross between a fiery diamond like a radiant shape with an icy diamond like an emerald cut, where you get a hint from both worlds. The diamond is named after Joseph Asscher, the founder of the Royal Asscher Company, established in Amsterdam in 1854.
Joseph created his asscher cut in 1902 and his diamond was popular for many years. Asscher cut diamonds today are readily available, and fortunately for admirers of this diamond it's not as popular as it was back in the early 1900's so they are easy to find despite their low production compared to most other shapes. An asscher cut diamond is unique to other diamonds as each asscher cut diamond commands it's own price regardless of grade, so there is no price guide for an asscher cut diamond as each stone is individual, almost like buying an opal.
